I hate magic because I don't get it.  Despite all the knowledge I have acquired over the years, I can't ever seem to just get magic like .. how the eff did that elephant disappear?  I have no idea.  So anyway, this interactive card trick on YouTube is driving be batshit insane because homeboy's gotten it right every. single. time. and he's not even probably on the same continent as me.  Also, this video is obviously not being filmed as we speak, so what this means to me in my magic-stupid mind is that he is traveling in time or has ridiculous psychic capabilities.  But seriously .. I'm perplexed.

I don't watch much television and I certainly don't watch American Idol, but I happened to be sitting in my friend's house last night gorging myself with Chinese food and I caught bits and pieces.  In what I caught, I fell in love with this kid David Archuleta.  Alongside his obvious talent, he just seems like this incredible kid, the kind that you really hope your kids turn out to be.  The thing Paula says at the end about dangling him from her rearview mirror, that's kinda creepy, though.  Anyway, I'm not one to gas Idol contestants, but this kid is just .. give it a watch.

I got an IM today from a friend linking me to this video.  He commenced to going on a diatribe about how music has gone soooooo downhillllllll and that if this is any indication of what is to come, he's "worried for the youth of America".   I replied, "Since when in the fuck do you care about the youth of America?  And anyway, this equals my NEW FAVORITE SONG IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE."  His reply:  "I hate you."  He really just might be sincere this time, too.
